Easy permanent lighting for your awning.
This ultra-bright flexible LED light kit is the easiest way to illuminate the area under your 180° or 270° awning. It’s designed to be permanently mounted and can be folded away with your awning when it is stored, reducing the amount of time it takes to set up and pack down your campsite.
The kit will work with all common awnings, with the length of the incuded cables calibrated to minimise excess. The 1.5m power lead has a cig plug on the end to allow the kit to be powered from any 12v outlet on your vehicle.
Using the included tri-colour dimmer (exclusive to Hardkorr) you can create three distinct colours of light. The cool white setting provides maximum brightness, whereas the new warm white setting will still give you great brightness but with a more relaxed feel – perfect for later at night. Switching to the orange light reduces the presence of bugs by up to 90%, and is useful around food preparation and eating areas.
Constructed with heavy-duty double-sided tape from 3M®, the flexible lights are easy to mount and promise long-lasting adhesion.

How does orange light reduce bug presence?
Some bugs, like mosquitos and moths, can’t help but move their body towards any light source they can see. This phenomenon is called positive phototaxis. Entomologists still don’t have a complete understanding of why this phenomenon exists, but it is clearly observable in nature.
Of course, bugs will only be attracted to light they can see, and there is a useful difference between the spectra of light which are visible to humans compared to bugs. Humans can generally see light which has a wavelength between 380nm (blue) and 740nm (red). Most bugs, conversely, can see light with a wavelength between 300nm and 600nm.
The wavelength of our orange LEDs is 610nm, putting them outside of the spectrum visible to must bugs, but still well inside the boundaries of human vision. As a result, most bugs will not congregate around our orange light because they simply don’t know it is there.

Can I mix and match white and orange/white LED lights?
Answer: Yes, with some caveats. Our white LED camp light bars use 2-pin DC connectors (black end caps), as do the 12v plugs and transformers. Orange/white light bars use 4-pin DC connectors (orange end caps). Orange/white dimmers have a 2-pin DC input plug and a 4-pin DC output plug, and provide the interface between white and orange/white light bars. This means that if you are mixing white and orange/white light bars, they will need to be controlled by separate dimmers. Our recommendation is to use a splitter cable straight after the cig lead or transformer, and run the white lights off one branch and the orange lights off the other.
How many LED camping lights can I connect in series?
Answer: Each setup is different, and there are a couple of factors to consider. First, consider the power source. Our cigarette lead will permit a maximum throughput of 5A, whereas our 240V transformers will handle between 3A and 5A depending on the model. Second, check the capacity of your dimmer switch. Our white dimmers are rated to 2A each, whereas our orange/white and tri-colour dimmers are rated to 5A. Refer to the specifications of your LED camp light product to determine its power draw, and then ensure you do not exceed the lower of the two ratings (power source / dimmer).
How can I mount the LED camping light bars?
Answer: Our camp light bars can be mounted in several different ways. Each bar has an inbuilt magnet at either end, for easy attachment to magnetic surfaces. You can also use our removable pole clips (standard in all camp kits except Hardkorr Lifestyle) to affix the bars to aluminium tent or awning poles. Finally, if you want to permanently fix your bars in place, you can use our flush mount clips (sold separately).
I have an orange and white camp light bar. How do I switch between colours?
Answer: If you have a rotary dimmer (circular dial), simply press on the dial to switch between orange and white light. If you have a tri-colour dimmer (buttons), you simply press the mode (M) button.
